The keyword ‘YouTube’ dominates the top searches, with an impressive 510.8 million average monthly searches. Additionally, users frequently search for YouTube using the shorthand keyword ‘yt,’ which generates 54.4 million average monthly searches earning a total of 2.8 billion site visits.

Coming in at second place is the branded keyword for the social media giant Facebook. It seems people still love the platform, with the keyword accounting for 3.1% of the worldwide traffic share.

35% of the top 100 searches are related to sports, with ‘IPL’ (Indian Premier League) leading at an average of 209.6 million monthly searches, followed by ‘NBA’ with 136.8 million monthly searches.

• Cricket, football (soccer), and American football (NFL) appear frequently, reflecting their widespread popularity

Additionally, the variation ‘Chat GPT’ (with a space) garnered 109 million monthly searches. Together, these search terms drove a staggering 3 billion visits.

‘WhatsApp Web’ ranked as the ninth most searched keyword on Google, with an impressive 154.3 million monthly searches. It generated 19.3 million clicks, capturing 0.02% of the search traffic share.

With significant weather events occurring in the US, including devastating wildfires in January, it’s no surprise that ‘weather’ became the most searched keyword over the last year, averaging 103.3 million monthly searches and generating 299.2 million clicks.

On the tail end of last year’s US elections, the fifth most searched query in the US was ‘election results’, which got 53 million average monthly searches. Other notable queries include:

Brits’ love for football is no secret, and this passion is reflected in the keyword ranking at position #6: ‘Premier League.’ This keyword is searched 10.8 million times per month in the UK. There are many more football-focused queries, including:
