Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) have transformed the way that we search for and book travel.  SimilarWeb’s latest report analyzes leading OTAs in the United States in the period between June 2015 and May 2016, revealing their different marketing strategies and offering insights about how the industry is changing.

The report’s chief focus is SEO, since search is such an important part of how OTAs gain traffic. An analysis of the top 100 non-branded searches to each of the leading OTAs reveals that flights are the category that drives the majority of traffic to Expedia, Kayak, Orbitz and Cheapoair.
