SimilarWeb, the leader in digital measurement, has just released their July App Index for paid Android apps. SimilarWeb’s app index is a ranking of apps within a market by the volume of usage. The proprietary ranking is calculated from the percentage of phones that have the app installed, the number of sessions per user, and average session duration.
Last week, India was the country analyzed for top free Android apps. This week SimilarWeb analyzed top paid Android apps for India. Both top apps lists illustrate app data from July.
Top paid app lists are usually dominated heavily by gaming, security and personalization apps, and the most used apps for India in July are no exception. This month, there is an even greater prevalence of personalization and security apps. Next Launcher 3D Shell and TSF Launcher 3D Shell remain the two most popular interface optimizers for Android, once again claiming 2nd and 3rd place (in terms of usage) respectively. Meanwhile MX Player Pro once again is the most used paid app in India, clinging firmly to first place. The app is a hugely popular media playing app that users clearly find favorable.
