We analyzed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/corp\/shopper\/\">Similarweb Shopper Intelligence data<\/a> to parse out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/blog\/ecommerce\/amazon-insights\/top-amazon-products\/\">the most searched-for items<\/a> during the pre-event sales leading up to Prime Day, which began in earnest today and concludes on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>These statistics are based on keyword searches within <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/website\/amazon.com\/\">amazon.com<\/a>, not from a search engine such as Google or Bing.<\/p>\n<h2>Key takeaways<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>During the period July 1 to July 8, \u201cportable air conditioners\u201d and \u201celectric bike\u201d made multiple appearances as the number 1 or number 2 search shoppers were clicking on, and \u201ccrocs\u201d also made multiple appearances near the top of the list. The popularity of air conditioners may have something to do with hot weather hitting many parts of the US, in addition to the prevalence of sales on those products.<\/li>\n<li>Generic searches on phrases like \u201cprime day today 2023\u201d were also prominent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Below, we\u2019ve included breakdowns of search hits for a few specific categories.
