Heading into Valentine\u2019s Day, Tinder, Hinge, and Bumble have the most users, overall. Hinge has grown active users 10.5% over the past year<\/h2>\n

Dating app and website engagement tends to dip right around Valentine\u2019s Day, perhaps because those who don\u2019t have a date lined up by mid-February aren\u2019t optimistic about getting one.<\/p>\n

Dating app engagement in general has declined, according to Similarweb estimates \u2013 although Hinge<\/a> is the standout exception, having grown monthly active users by 10.5% over the last year. Tinder\u2019s user count is down 5.1%<\/a>, although it remains by far the largest of the dating apps. Bumble is down 8.6%<\/a>, while usage of Plenty of Fish<\/a> and OK Cupid is down about 20%<\/a>. These figures are for iOS and Android, combined.<\/p>\n

Hinge is the second most used dating app in the US<\/a>, behind Tinder, with Bumble coming in at #3.<\/p>\n

Hinge and Bumble are two apps with high user retention<\/a>, and both emphasize helping users find something more than hookups. Hinge promotes itself as “designed to be deleted,” meaning it will help you find a good relationship where you won’t need it anymore. Bumble promises to put women in control of the digital matchmaking process.<\/p>\n

Tinder, Hinge, and many of the others on our list are owned by the Match Group conglomerate, while Bumble is the independent public company that places closest to the top of the list.<\/p>\n
