The most important thing to note here is that Proflowers hold the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/top-websites\/lifestyle\/gifts-and-flowers\/\">number one ranking in the gifts &amp; flowers category<\/a>. By discovering who these competitors are, you can then analyze what\u2019s driving customers to their site by investigating their popular keywords. You\u2019re also in a position to look at their promotional campaigns to see what may work for you and tap into customer&#8217;s needs. Filtering the sites, visited outside of Proflowers, by the \u2018shopping\u2019 category brought up the usual suspects such as FTD and Fromyouflowers, but a couple of other sites caught my interest. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/website\/redenvelope.com\/\">Red Envelope<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/website\/personalizationmail.com\/\">PersonalizationMail<\/a> were popular with Proflowers&#8217; customers. These two sites offer unique gifts for sale which would make the perfect accompaniment to a bouquet of flowers. It would be sensible for Proflowers to investigate launching a similar service to tie in with their main product.<\/p>\n<h3>Audience Interests &#8211; Competitors Segmentation<\/h3>\n<p>The topics distribution infographic allows you to identify topics that people are looking for on other websites. This allows you to cross-reference against your own topics and see which areas need more promotion as per their value to your customers. Again, \u2018gifts\u2019 is prominently displayed as a popular topic and would suggest that this is an area Proflowers really need to consider.<\/p>\n<p>Another way to analyze this data, for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/blog\/marketing\/marketing-strategy\/direct-indirect-competitors\/\">segmenting direct and indirect competition<\/a>, is by analyzing the categories of the websites in the list of &#8216;Audience Interests&#8217;. Follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download the list to CSV using the download button located on the top right side of the table<\/li>\n<li>Open the csv file and copy the categories column to another sheet or document<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Remove duplicates Excel\" href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/filter-for-unique-values-or-remove-duplicate-values-ccf664b0-81d6-449b-bbe1-8daaec1e83c2?ocmsassetid=hp010073943&amp;correlationid=641295e0-f5cc-44ea-ac4c-720a9f62b29d&amp;ui=en-us&amp;rs=en-us&amp;ad=us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Remove duplicates<\/a> &#8211; this will give you the list of all the categories of websites that are visited in the same browsing sessions together with your own website.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Now you can take this list and, by manually going over it, start understanding all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/blog\/marketing\/marketing-strategy\/competitors-types\/\">types of competitors<\/a>. Here are some interesting categories we found in Proflowers&#8217; list:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shopping\/Weddings<\/li>\n<li>Shopping\/Jewelry<\/li>\n<li>People_and_Society\/Relationships_and_Dating<\/li>\n<li>Internet_and_Telecom\/Chats_and_Forums<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each one of these holds the potential for growth in the form of partnerships and\/or additional services that Proflowers can offer their customers.
