This week is the appetizer after last week\u2019s amuse-bouche, and the next two weeks will constitute the main course of this earnings season.<\/p>\n<p>Without further ado, let\u2019s get into the earnings insights for companies reporting in the week starting July 20. Keep in mind that all the data below is desktop data only.<\/p>\n<h2>MSFT Earnings Insights<\/h2>\n<p>Microsoft Earnings Date: July 22, 2020<\/p>\n<p>Teams\u2019 incredible COVID spurred growth left Slack far behind.<\/p>\n    <div class=\"js-infographic-script\" data-id=\"infogram_0_fd04bf4d-b087-4ed5-a419-e127cff6d594\" data-title=\"MSFT vs Slack\" data-src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?mcb\"><\/div>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Microsoft Teams continued to grow at a torrid pace in Q2, with a growth of 813% in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/website\/teams.microsoft.com\/\">MUVs to teams.microsoft.com<\/a>. Microsoft now has over 33 million MUVs to its teams subdomain, almost three and a half times more than Slack\u2019s 9.2 million MUVs.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/website\/microsoft.com\/\">Analyzing visits to Microsoft.com<\/a>, URLs containing the string \u201cstore\/cart\u201d using <a href=\"https:\/\/support.similarweb.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360005495097-Website-Segment-Analysis\">segment analysis<\/a> reveals the number of visits increased 22.4% YOY, indicating a higher purchase intent for products sold on the website.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/website\/portal.azure.com\/\">MUVs to portal.azure.com<\/a>, Microsoft\u2019s cloud console, grew by 27.8% YOY. This represents a significant deceleration from the average growth rate of the past four quarters, which stands at 51.7%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>TWTR Earnings Insights<\/h2>\n<p>Twitter Earnings Date: July 23, 2020<\/p>\n    <div class=\"js-infographic-script\" data-id=\"infogram_0_0fa2978e-7db9-4022-b1da-963023e68678\" data-title=\"Twitter Visits Q2 Earnings 2020\" data-src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?krR\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Twitter\u2019s massive growth in total pages viewed is a result of higher engagement, and less so of new users.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The number of total <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/blog\/research\/business-benchmarking\/pageviews\/\">page views<\/a> for twitter.com in Q2 reached 140 billion, the highest figure on record. Year over year (YOY), total page views rose an astounding 91.1% This growth was mainly a result of more engaged users, as worldwide <a href=\"https:\/\/support.similarweb.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/214074389-Monthly-Unique-Visitors\">monthly unique visitors<\/a> (MUVs) declined 2.8% YOY in Q2.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/website\/twitter.com\/\">number of visits to twitter.com<\/a> rose 18.6% YOY in Q2, while the number of pages viewed per visits increased 61% YOY. Twitter got more out of its existing users this quarter.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/website\/ads.twitter.com\/\">Traffic to ads.twitter.com<\/a> declined 2% YOY but rose 10.3% quarter over quarter (QOQ). June 2020 was the first month since July 2019 to have positive YOY traffic growth to the ads subdomain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>LUV Earnings Insights<\/h2>\n<p>Southwest Earnings Date: July 23, 2020<\/p>\n<p>Air travel has been deeply impacted by COVID, but the worst of it may be behind us as we begin Q3.<\/p>\n    <div class=\"js-infographic-script\" data-id=\"infogram_0_7b896db8-0ca2-45f6-9bc0-8e39af4df0e3\" data-title=\"Southwest Q2 2020\" data-src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?FYn\"><\/div>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Traffic to URLs containing \u201cbooking\/confirmation\u201d was down 66% YOY in Q2, as travelers remain reluctant to book new flights during the COVID pandemic. Traffic to these URLs fell 82% YOY in April, 64% in May, and 53% in June.<\/li>\n<li>This trend can also be seen in <a href=\"https:\/\/support.similarweb.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/212849049-Referral-Traffic\">referral traffic<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/website\/southwest.com\/\">southwest.com<\/a>. In Q2 2019, 13% of outgoing traffic was to PayPal domains as part of the checkout process. This number dropped to only 4% in Q2 2020, as fewer customers completed a plane ticket purchase.<\/li>\n<li>Unfortunately, traffic to \u201cair\/cancel-reservation\u201d URLs remained high in Q2, even though the peak of cancellations happened in March. In Q2 2020, these pages were visited 46.8% more than in the comparable quarter last year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>T Earnings Insights<\/h2>\n<p>AT&amp;T Earnings Date: July 23, 2020<\/p>\n<p>AT&amp;T\u2019s HBO is suffering from a post-Game of Thrones hangover, but HBO MAX\u2019s launch is showing positive preliminary results<\/p>\n    <div class=\"js-infographic-script\" data-id=\"infogram_0_998a0687-f98f-4eaa-a924-d8bfabfe472a\" data-title=\"Copy: Asos Q2 2020\" data-src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?CI4\"><\/div>\n\n<ul>\n<li>HBO MAX recently launched in late May, and the service already had 2.7 million MUVs in June in its first full month of operation<\/li>\n<li>The general HBO service is suffering from the post-Game of Thrones era, as MUVs to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/website\/hbo.com\/\">hbo.com<\/a> fell 63.4% YOY. The comparable quarter last year coincides with the release of the final season of Game of Thrones, which is making this year\u2019s figures pale in comparison. QOQ, MUVs to hbo.com increased by 21.2%.<\/li>\n<li>Traffic to the URL containing \u201cbuy\/phones\u201d on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/website\/att.com\/\">att.com<\/a> rose 10% YOY, indicating an increased interest from consumers buying phones from AT&amp;T\u2019s website.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>SNAP Earnings Insights<\/h2>\n<p>Snap Earnings Date: July 21<\/p>\n<p>Interest in advertising on Snap was high in Q2, as well as the interest in the company\u2019s new camera.<\/p>\n    <div class=\"js-infographic-script\" data-id=\"infogram_0_070db325-12d1-4c24-894b-4bf7d6bf1dec\" data-title=\"sNAP q2 2020\" data-src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?Jic\"><\/div>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Visits to Snap\u2019s ads subdomain were up 63.4% YOY in Q2, driven in part by a very strong month of May, in which visits the ads subdomain grew by 81% YOY.<\/li>\n<li>Snap\u2019s ads subdomain also grew 5.2% QOQ, led by the two strongest months of traffic to the ads subdomain in May and April at #1 and #2 respectively.<\/li>\n<li>Snap\u2019s new camera significantly increased the number of MUVs to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.similarweb.com\/website\/snapcamera.snapchat.com\/\">snapcamera.snapchat.com<\/a>. In April, 1.3 million MUVs visited the subdomain.
