I början av 2000-talet hade Högskolan i Skövdes profilområde, IT-utbildningarna, alldeles för dåligt söktryck. Efter mycket tänkande och långa workshoppar kom man fram till att slå samman flera av de kunskaper som fanns på Högskolan för att skapa en dataspelsutbildning.
