Scrollbuster – Take Smarter Breaks While Scrolling Overview Scrollbuster is designed to help users reduce the negative effects of prolonged scrolling on social media apps. The app offers short, customizable “brain games” and relaxing music prompts that appear while using selected social media scrolling apps. You can select how long these brain breaks appear (breaks can be dismissed immediately at any time), how frequent they are and what scrolling apps they appear alongside. Instead of continuous scrolling, Scrollbuster can display optional, user-configured prompts such as: • Short brain games • Relaxing audio moments • Positive affirmations These prompts are designed to serve as ‘gentle reminders’ to pause/take a break, to support focus, reduce fatigue and the other negative effects associated with prolonged social media scrolling, and encourage mindful app usage. How It Works Users can fully control their experience: • Choose which apps prompts appear alongside • Set how often prompts appear • Set how long prompts stay on screen • Dismiss prompts instantly at any time Prompts only appear in apps explicitly selected by the user and never appear on the home screen or outside those apps. If no apps are selected, the brain prompts will not appear at all. Accessibility Service Disclosure Scrollbuster uses Android’s Accessibility Service API solely to enable its core feature of showing user-configured prompts at appropriate times while selected apps are in use. This permission is used only to: • Determine when a selected app is currently in use • Trigger user-enabled prompts accordingly Scrollbuster does not use this service to: • Read screen content or messages • capture text input or keystrokes • collect personal or sensitive information • track user behavior across apps • store or transmit any accessibility data All information accessed via Accessibility Service remains on the device. No data is transmitted externally, stored, or shared with third parties. Why Accessibility Permission Is Required The Accessibility Service is required to reliably detect the currently active app in real time. Standard Android APIs do not provide consistent or accurate access to foreground app detection across all devices and Android versions. Accessibility service is used to deliver the reliable app functionality described to users. This service is necessary for the app to function as intended, ensuring prompts appear after the right amount of time during scrolling sessions and on the correct selected apps. User Control & Transparency • Accessibility permission is optional and can be disabled at any time • Brain breaks/prompts only appear if the user has selected apps and enabled the feature • Users remain in full control of frequency, timing, and behavior • If Accessibility permission is disabled or the user has no apps selected, brain breaks/prompts will not appear, but Scrollbuster will continue to function normally in other respects. Privacy First Scrollbuster does not collect, store, or share personal data. Scrollbuster uses Accessibility Service strictly for its core functionality. It is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or tracking.
