They’ve perfected some of the simple touches that will go a long way when you decide to host your next party. Before anyone steps beyond the front door, seasonal wreaths make statements that can reflect your styles and favorite colors. In spring, variations of eucalyptus leaves and white florals give a solid pop – especially if your door has a vibrant color. Ditch the winter (and Christmas) pine and ribbon and opt for something brighter. Hanging wreaths should be roughly 14 inches from the top of the door – right at eye level! Generally, your entry way leads into your living rooms. Stage your throw blankets over the ottoman, arm or back corner of your sofa so it’s within sight, easily grabbed yet nicely folded (our favorite is the tri-fold)! Decorative storage is always a nice add next to your couch, chair or fireplace so your extra blankets and pillows are thoughtfully stored away. Dining center pieces are always tricky, especially if you’re hosting a dinner party. A too-tall piece blocks the conversation and something to short may look understated. If you have a wide table, the key is to place a neutral runner to elongate a table and then anchor a centerpiece with some natural textures and a pop of color. Even if your guests aren’t supposed to see your master bedroom, it’s always a good idea to spruce up, make the bed and fluff the pillows so it doesn’t look like you’ve just rolled out of your slumber.
