We are dedicated to ensuring that individuals receive the support, care, and opportunities they need to live with dignity, independence, and purpose. Our History In 1971, a group of determined parents founded Momentum Valley Village to secure a future for their children with developmental and intellectual disabilities. At a time when institutionalization was often the only option, these parents envisioned community-based living and specialized support. In 1976, their vision became a reality with the opening of Momentum Valley Village’s first home in Sylmar, providing a nurturing environment for six young women. Over the years, Momentum Valley Village expanded to meet the needs of the community, developing residential homes, adult day programs, and skilled nursing facilities. Today, Momentum Valley Village serves nearly 400 individuals with disabilities such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Seizure Disorders, and Cerebral Palsy. More than 50 years later, we remain committed to our mission — honoring the legacy of the parents who started it all and continuing to champion the rights and well-being of adults with disabilities.   A Proud Member of the Momentum Family In October 2024, Momentum Valley Village became a subsidiary of Momentum, a nonprofit since 1945 dedicated to supporting independence and full citizenship of children and adults with disabilities and medical conditions and being a resource to their families. . .
