Latino Empowerment through Public Broadcasting was created by two interns in the Library of Congress’ Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Internship Program. Alexandra García, then a student at the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey, conceived the exhibit’s theme, created an initial organizational structure, and completed the first two sections of the exhibit: The Origins of Latino Community Radio; and Latino Public Television History. After Alexandra’s internship ended, Gabriela Rivera Marín, then a student at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras, and currently a PhD student in Hispanic Linguistics at the University of Florida, revised the exhibit’s structure and created the final three sections: The Immigrant Experience through Public Broadcasting; Voices of Dissent: Life and Challenges of the Latino Community; and Identity and Culture. Translations for the Spanish-language version of this exhibit, Empoderamiento latino mediante la radiodifusión pública, were created by Ruben Luciano Jr., an intern in the Library of Congress Archives, History and Heritage Advanced Internship Program and a PhD student in Latin American history at Tulane University who specializes in Dominican and Dominican American history and cultural affairs; Yannardo Rosas, an intern in the Library of Congress Internships (LOCI) Program and student at University of Puerto Rico, Bayamón; and Gabriela Rivera Marín, co-curator of the exhibit. Carlos Olave, Head of the Hispanic Reading Room/Hispanic Section of the Library of Congress, and María Peña, Public Affairs Specialist of the Library of Congress Office of Communications, assisted with the translation. Ruben Luciano Jr. added the subsection on Dominican Americans to the Identity and Culture section and updated the exhibit with references to Spanish-language programming that had been added to AAPB after the English-language version of the exhibit was first published.We are grateful to the anonymous reviewers
