The online training consists of 5 sections, with a series of questions to be answered at the end of each section. It is designed so you can learn at your own pace and when it's convenient for you. Complete the academics online in preparation for your class & pool sessions. CLASS & POOL SESSIONS 2-3 sessions in the class/pool. Completing the online training beforehand greatly reduces the time spent in the formal classroom setting. This means a quick review in the classroom, and then it's off to the pool for confined water training! In the pool, students practice skills that will be used during the open water dives. OPEN WATER DIVES 4 open water dives, over a minimum period of 2 days are required to complete the Open Water Certification. The biggest challenge for Blue Water Divers is coaxing Discover Scuba Diving participants out of the water when the program is over. The fun part? It's all fun! What You Learn You learn the basics you need to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. You will:  Experience the thrill of being underwater.  Dive in a warm, clear pool.  Your experience may credit towards diver certification  It's fun, it's easy, and its your chance of a lifetime! The Scuba Gear You Use All the equipment you will need is included in a Discover Scuba Diving experience. You'll use all the basic scuba gear including a mask and snorkel, fins, a wetsuit, a buoyancy compensating jacket (BCD) that carries your weights and scuba tank, a scuba regulator to breathe from and instrumentation to monitor depth and air supply. To keep our prices low, all classes are nonrefundable and there is a fee of $50 pp to change the date.  PADI Open Water Diver Certification has three parts:   Confined Water (or pool) Dives develop basic scuba skills and Watermanship Assessment consisting of a 10 minute tread or float and a 300 yard mask/fin/snorkel swim. Academic (eLearning) teaches about equipment, safety and dive planning.          *THE ABOVE CLASS/CONFINED WATER ARE DONE TOGETHER*       3. You'll do Four Open Water Dives where you'll demonstrate the scuba skills you learned in Confined Water but in an Open Water environment such as lake, quarry or ocean. You will need your own Scuba quality mask, fins, snorkel and boots. This is basic gear that you will take with you wherever you go Scuba diving. Snorkel fins are not allowed. If you like the water and adventure, you can probably become a PADI diver. Keep in mind the following:   You will need to fill out a medical form. Sometimes a doctor's approval is required before you can begin the class. You must know how to swim. You don't have to be a great swimmer but you should be comfortable. There is homework. The PADI eLearning is included in the class price and must be completed before the confined water/pool sessions. Minimum age for the group classes is 12 years old. See the Youth flyer for children ages 10-11. Classes are nonrefundable.  $75 pp transfer fee to change dates. Classes subject to price increase if changed.
