Run Jordan is non-governmental organization dedicated to the promotion of competitive and leisure running. A primary focus of Run Jordan’s efforts is to promote marathon running covering distances beyond 20 km in half-marathon, marathon, and ultra-marathon races. The traditional ‘marathon’ comprising a distance of 42.195 km represents an important part of the modern Olympic and Paralympic legacy in the area of athletics. Along with marathon running, Run Jordan organizes shorter ‘fun runs’ throughout the country and supports programs to promote running in Jordanian schools and leisure running for adults. It also provides support to elite Jordanian athletes seeking to increasing their competitiveness by participating in regional and international running events.
