The Visual 911+ mobile application empowers the user with the ability to communicate their general GPS location and alert status to three family/friends (lifelines) via any email address during, after or just prior to a disaster striking. The original “Disaster ID” application was designed to empower survivors caught in the aftermath of a disaster, such as a Hurricane or Tornado, with a method of visually signaling their location, condition and group makeup to their neighbors and/or first responders. When you first download the Visual 911+ app you will enter your name, phone number and up to three emails of the lifelines who you would like to be alerted in case of an emergency. When you activate your Visual 911+ app you will not only change the screen to the appropriate Disaster ID color selection, you will also send your general GPS coordinates and an alert message via email to the three lifelines you had entered. Your lifelines now know you are in need of assistance and know your general GPS location and to zone in on you by looking for the visual signal coming from your screen. The lifelines can now go help you or call authorities with the information and tell them the general GPS coordinates and to look for the illuminated signal coming from the phone. A little light can go a long way in the dark!
