Bisacodyl   WHAT IS CODYLAX® Suppository? CODYLAX® Suppository is indicated: Symptomatic treatment of constipation caused by rectal dyschesia. Dosage: For CODYLAX® 5mg, suppository: Children from 4 to 10 years old: 1 suppository (5mg) per day, ½ hour before intestinal evacuation. For CODYLAX® 10mg, suppository: Children over 10 year old and adults: 1 suppository (10mg) per day, ½ hour before intestinal evacuation.The maximum daily dose should not be exceeded. Mode of administration: Rectal route. Administration of suppository should be as short as possible (10days at maximum). STORAGE: Store below 30ºC. Protect from light, heat and humidity.   ADVERSE EFFECTS AND WARNING: The following effects may occur: As with all laxative suppositories, prolonged use may give rise to sensations of anal bumming and exceptionally congestive proctitis. Abdominal pain, nausea and diarrhea, hypokalemia. Less frequency: Rectorrhagia, anorectal discomfort (bumming sensation and anorectal pain), vomiting. Rare: Anaphylactic reactions, Quincke’s edema, Generalized pruritus, Dehydration, Dizziness, Syncope, Colitis including ischemic colitis. Pregnancy: Not recommended during pregnancy. Breastfeeding: CODYLAX® can be used during breastfeeding. Inform your doctor or pharmacist about any undesirable effect which is not listed in this leaflet.
