augusta fencers club is a salle des armes, as fencing halls are traditionally called. instruction in sabre, foil, and epee are offered in a variety of formats from beginning classes to private lessons. we are a member of the georgia division of the united stated fencing association; our members compete locally, regionally and nationally. founder and head coach dr. rudy volkmann enjoys a national reputation in the world as a sabre fencer, and represented the united states as a member of the 2003 veteran 60+ world team. he is also the author of magnum libre d'escrime, which is reviewed as one of the most significant texts on modern fencing available today. his latest publication is a class text and instructors manual, �introduction to foil fencing.� read dr. volkmann's full biography on our staff page.
