Nach den weniger guten Medienberichten der letzten Wochen haben wir, was die vinoscout-Welt angeht, eine schöne neue Nachricht für Sie. Wir bereichern unser Weinsortiment mit Weinen von Starwinzer Markus Schneider aus der Pfalz, den jeder Weinliebhaber kennt und dessen Weine auf den Weinkarten der Spitzengastronomie einen festen Platz haben. Wir möchten Ihnen diese Winzer-Persönlichkeit, von der auch in der Weinszene jeder spricht, etwas näher vorstellen. Bei den Rebsorten Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay oder Syrah mit den Namen KAITUI, BLACK PRINT oder HULLABALOO denken wir in erster Linie an Kalifornien, Südafrika oder Australien. Solche Weine aus Deutschland, wie geht das denn? Die Geschichte von Markus Schneider ähnelt ein bisschen der von Jeff Bezos, so unter dem Motto „von der Hinterhofgarage zu einem der bekanntesten Weingüter Deutschlands“. Von der Pike auf Anfang der 90er Jahre folgte Markus Schneider dem Rat seines Vaters, eine Winzerlehre zu machen. Er fing im Nachbarort bei dem Traditions-Weingut Dr. Bürklin-Wolf in Wachenheim in der Pfalz an . Es muss wohl Liebe auf den ersten Blick, außergewöhnliches Talent, große Leidenschaft oder eine Mischung aus alledem gewesen sein, was den Jungwinzer innerhalb kurzer Zeit zu Höhenflügen antrieb. Nach der Devise „Wege entstehen, wenn man sie geht“ merkte der Winzer Markus Schneider schnell, dass er für ein Angestellten-Verhältnis weniger geeignet war. Er fing an, Weine selbst zu produzieren und zu vermarkten. Im Nachbarort Ellerstadt fand er dazu ideale Bedingungen und realisierte dort seinen Traum vom eigenen Weingut. Sein Qualitätsanspruch war von Anfang an, Weine zu machen, die unverwechselbar seine Handschrift tragen würden.
