Weihnachten ist aus entwicklungspsychologischer Sicht ein Resonanzraum für Verbundenheit und Solidarität. Dr. Sina Gibhardt vom Humboldt Wissenschaftszentrum für Kindesentwicklung (HumanKind) an der Universität Leipzig erklärt im Interview, wie die besondere Mischung aus Wärme, Ritualen und vertrauten Routinen Kindern emotionale Sicherheit und Zugehörigkeit schenkt. Begegnungen mit Familie und Gemeinschaft stärken ihr Erleben, Teil eines größeren sozialen Netzes zu sein. Zugleich biete Weihnachten viele Anlässe, Empathie und Solidarität zu üben – etwa durch kleine Gesten des Gebens oder gemeinsames Helfen, sagt die Entwicklungspsychologin. So werde das Fest zu einer Erfahrung, die Bindung, soziale Kompetenz und seelische Gesundheit nachhaltig fördert.
