Notice the exquisite detail, and the way in which the author incorporates precise information about the conidioma, the conidiogenous cells and various stages in the development of the conidia. Each drawing is a mine of biological information, which will allow the reader to make unequivocal identifications of all 423 species drawn. There are also many synoptic and dichotomous keys, and a huge assemblage of literature... A book to be treasured and revisited again and again, for aesthetic and mycological pleasure.
