#095 An Antique Fancy French Made ? Tri-Corn Hat made in the 18th century style, circa. early-mid 19th century ?  The hat is made of Beaver pelt with braided gilt thread brim boarder with applied decorative braided gilt metal thread depicting scrolling patterns.  The inside of the hat has a white silk lining with unidentified makers mark (should be researched to pin point a date of manufacture).  The original leather sweat band and a large feather died red is intact.  A very interesting and well made tri-corn hat ! NOTE - This hat may have been made for the high society gatherings, parties, theater presentations, government functions, and celebrations such as "Carnival" in Venice, Italy.  There are a few opinions that the hat is much higher quality than those made for theatre production and was made in the 18th century and later restored in the 19th century.
