Michael Jones was born in Dallas, Texas and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1994. Jones has completed public murals throughout America and recently completed a five story mural in downtown Decatur, Ga. His design was selected for the MARTA Hartsfield Atlanta Airport mosaic commission. He curated “Westside Murals” a collective effort between the community and 14 emerging Atlanta-based artists blending mural and street art installations onto the interior walls of self-service car wash bays. Jones’s “Moving Targets” series was exhibited at Rosa Parks Museum, in Montgomery, Alabama and Eyedrum in Atlanta Ga. “Riots and Rallies, Parades and Protest” is his latest series of work, which was presented in 2021 at Swan Coach House and in Tampa, FL at Tempus Project.Jones received his bachelors degree in Painting and Sculpture from Atlanta College of Art (SCAD) in 1998.
