Lower the heat and simmer until the internal temperature reaches 165°F—this takes about 40–50 minutes if frozen, or 20–25 minutes if thawed. You can check the temperature by folding the unopened bag around a stemmed thermometer. Once heated, transfer to a serving container and keep warm at 150–160°F until ready to serve.
