The 11Fountains car route is also highly recommended: in every Frisian city, a member of the fountain committee tells something about the fountain in question. Download the route of your choice preferably on a wifi connection so that you are not dependent on an internet connection. After the route is downloaded, it is available offline in the app. The "MeAR Fryslân" app takes you with the GPS of your mpbile phone and a clear route along points that have a story behind them.
