Teresa Parod Murals is a companion app to the artist’s public works. Using Augmented Reality, it activates a layered spatial audio-visual experience around selected murals. This edition features 11 murals—mostly in Evanston, Illinois, and one in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Nine Evanston murals line the alley at 2300 Thayer Street, where their 3D scenes interconnect to form a listener- and viewer-driven immersive environment. The work offers an interactive, listener-directed form of spatial mixing that unites sound, movement, and public space. It is like an audio walk fused directly with the murals themselves. Scenes draw on field recordings made in Bali, New Orleans, and Chicago, woven with instrumental layers and voices in ten languages. Animated 3D models of birds, bats, dogs, elephants, rabbits, and celestial forms appear among the murals, joined by subtle video textures and custom shaders that bring the paintings to life.
