«Фантом Пресс» — одно из старейших издательств России, появилось на свет в 1992-м году. В начале 1990-х «Фантом» был известен как издательство, выпускающее иронические детективы и, прежде всего, книги Иоанны Хмелевской, которая, по сути, стала крестной матерью издательства. Постепенно издательские интересы расширялись и менялись. К началу нового века иронический детектив уступил место в издательском портфеле современной зарубежной нежанровой прозе. «Фантом Пресс» начал издавать теперь уже легендарную серию «Зебра», в которой впервые были изданы на русском книги Стивена Фрая, Джонатана Коу, Кристофера Мура, Уильяма Сатклиффа, Хью Лори и многих других авторов, совершенно неизвестных в России. Одной из звезд серии стала Сью Таунсенд, чьи «Дневники Адриана Моула» сейчас уже литературная классика. Авторы и тогда, и сейчас были очень разные, но объединяло их одно: их книги – это Литература, даже если их и можно отнести к жанровой прозе.
