Kewtech SMARTPAT PAT Tester The Kewtech SMARTPAT PAT Tester is a Pass/Fail portable appliance tester which can be converted to a full downloading PAT tester when used with Kewtech’s KEWPAT app (more information below). The Kewtech PAT Tester will indicate whether a portable appliance has passed or failed a particular test by changing the large, LCD, backlit display’s colour to either green (pass) or red (fail). Measuring Capabilities It is capable of performing the following checks: Earth bond at 200mA (IT safe) Quick check continuity 5-second continuity 250V insulation test (ideal for testing surge protected extension leads) 500V insulation test Substitute leakage test Extension lead test Portable RCD tests This PAT tester allows the user to select whether he or she wishes to run leakage tests at either 110V or 230V and is able to test 10mA and 30mA portable RCDs without tripping these instruments. The inclusion of an extension lead adapter and earth continuity test lead with probe and crocodile clip further extends this product’s scope-for-use.   The Kewtech SMARTPAT PAT Tester can also be adjusted to suit the user’s needs as he/she may use the KEWPAT app to create personalised test sequences. This instrument also includes automatic test sequences for Class I and Class II appliances which can be easily accessed using dedicated function buttons.   In addition to its extensive testing capabilities and adjustability, the Kewtech SMARTPAT PAT Tester has also been designed to ensure checks are as accurate as possible and to this end includes a test lead nulling feature. It is also capable of running an appliance status pre-check which determines whether the appliance under investigation is powered on or off. This protects both the user and PAT tester from unnecessary harm.
