100%This collection presents the spiritual ego through the myth of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, as told in the Book of Revelation. The prophecy warns of the destruction that will fall upon the Earth during the Last Judgement. The word apocalypse originates from the Greek apo and kalypto, meaning to “uncover, disclose, reveal” or “to take away.” The horsemen uncover, disclose or reveal the nature of ego. Carl Jung described the horse as a “dynamic power and a means of locomotion; it carries one away like a surge of instinct.” As symbols of the unconscious, the four horsemen represent patterns of egoic tendencies and behaviours. Their dynamic power illuminates how we may be led astray on the path of development. They are: Spiritual narcissism. Spiritual bypassing. Spiritual correctness. Spiritual imposter syndrome. These don’t exist in isolation but are interconnected. For example, spiritual bypassing can lead to spiritual narcissism, which can create a perfect idea of spirituality, enforced through spiritual correctness, causing others to experience spiritual imposter syndrome when failing to meet those standards. I would argue we’re approaching the end times madness of ego inflation, self-indulgence, false spirituality, apathy, and delusion. Knowing these qualities intimately is required to overcome them. Rather than literal end times, the apocalypse symbolises inner transformation: exactly what is required to move towards a brighter future.
