100%Planinski vestnik (kratica je PV, Slovenski pravopis) velja za najstarejšo slovensko revijo, ki še izhaja!Planinski vestnik se je v svoji prvi številki februarja 1895 predstavil javnosti z naslednjim programom: Da slovensko planinsko društvo doseže svoj namen (izdajati, pospeševati in podpirati zanimljive planinaslovne spise in slike), sklenil je odbor Sl. pl. dr. od leta 1895. počenši izdavati blagemu planinoslovstvu posvečen mesečnik, kateri bode objavljal zanimljiva predavanja in različne planinoslovne spise in slike.Avgusta 2021 - ob 125-letnici izhajanja - je revija Planinski vestnik prejela državno odlikovanje. In sicer je predsednik Republike Slovenije Borut Pahor v Predsedniški palači Planinski vestnik, nastarejšo slovensko revijo, ki še izhaja, odlikoval z redom za zasluge. Predsednik je prepoznal kulturno in strokovno vrednost stopetindvajset let izhajanja revije. V vseh teh letih je namreč revija zaznamovala slovenski kulturni prostor, tako da je ohranjala slovenski jezik in bogatila gorniško dediščino. Več o podelitvi.
