81%Hojicha Reserve by Rya Grown in the serene tea fields of Uji, Kyoto—Japan’s most revered region for green tea—Hojicha Reserve by Rya is an invitation to slow down and savor the warmth of a deeply grounding ritual. Available exclusively at Ujicha Matcha, this finely milled, stone-ground hojicha powder is crafted from first harvest leaves that have been carefully roasted to release their natural sweetness and soothing aroma. Unlike traditional green teas, hojicha is roasted rather than steamed, resulting in a beautifully toasted, nutty profile with gentle umami, a mellow earthiness, and zero bitterness. Hojicha Reserve offers notes of warm hazelnut, soft caramel, and a whisper of cocoa—making it a cozy, low-caffeine choice perfect for afternoon resets or evening wind-downs. Its versatility is as inviting as its flavor: whisk it with hot water for a smooth usucha-style cup, blend it with milk for a naturally sweet and aromatic latte, or add depth to baked goods and desserts. Whether part of a mindful morning or a calming bedtime ritual, Hojicha Reserve brings both beauty and intention to your everyday moments. What makes it special? It’s not just the taste—it’s the harmony. Grown in Uji, harvested with care, and roasted to perfection, this hojicha powder offers a premium, small-batch experience that reflects Japan’s centuries-old tea tradition while fitting seamlessly into modern, wellness-centered lifestyles. Flavor notes: toasted hazelnut, caramel, roasted cocoa, gentle umami Origin: Uji, Kyoto – Japan’s historic tea-growing region Roasting: First harvest leaves, slow-roasted for depth and sweetness Ideal preparation: Whisked with hot water, lattes, or culinary use Caffeine level: Low – ideal for afternoon or evening rituals Elevate your tea time with the warmth and elegance of Hojicha Reserve by Rya, now available at Ujicha Matcha.

79%Variety: Sidra Region: Seraguro, Ecuador Altitude: 1,950 Meters Above Sea Level Process: Washed Harvest: September 2025 Notes: Marionberry, Grapefruit & Floral. Miguel Dota is growing some of our most celebrated coffee out of Ecuador to date! This Sidra delivers a fascinating array of articulated flavors. There's an umami affect in this cup that keeps us coming back with interest. The body is big - yet delicate, the cup is sweet with alternating currents of botanical & fruited character. There is a uniquely sharp citric delineation in the structure. You may also find notes of blueberry, blood orange, vanilla and lemon meringue. The Dota Family members all have small garden plots of land with a couple acres amongst themselves for coffee production. They all produce incredibly nuanced and distinguished coffees. Miguel's tiny lot of Sidra is consistently an impressive boutique out-turn. We are feeling very fortunate to share his work with you. His land sits up on the hillside of Seraguro with Mejorado and Sidra plants now fruiting regularly. We cannot wait to see where Miguel and his family take their work in the years ahead. They have been blowing us away with their quality of cultivating and processing. Coffee cherries are picked at peak ripeness with a high brix. Sorted and depulped immediately. Dry fermented for 24 hours then fully washed. Dried on raised beds for up to two weeks. Sidra has been identified as an Ethiopian Landrace strain, beyond that, we don't know much else. It has in recent years grown in popularity due to Ecuador's great success with producing high scoring cups with this variety. This is one of the best representations we have been graced with. Hope you enjoy this micro-lot as much as we do! Orders made Monday-Sunday are roasted the following Monday. Shipped on Tuesdays. Our coffees are best after two weeks+ of the roast date.
