This class is recommended for advanced beginner to intermediate fiddle players who are interested in building their confidence and musicality in a safe and positive group environment. Each week, we’ll come together to share tunes we know, learn new tunes by ear at a casual pace from the old-time and celtic repertoire, and explore techniques and exercises that help us achieve maximum enjoyment while playing. We’ll also cover jamming with other instruments and the fiddler’s role in traditional music. Expect a supportive, low-pressure class filled with listening, discussion, and lots of fiddle playing together! Playing the fiddle is one of the greatest joys of my life and I'd love to share that with others. I grew up in Texas playing Western Swing style, but now I enjoy Old Time and Irish styles most of all. I perform in an acoustic duo called Frosty Frog with my husband, Erik, and I also play in a Burlington-based folk rock band called Emerald Ground Water.
