Germination Information: I recommend these seeds only for patient gardeners who have experience with seeds that need a chilling period to germinate. Sow about 1/8 inch deep in mid fall to early winter and set the pot outdoors then for germination in spring. The winter-sowing approach can work very well: Seeds I sowed in a milk jug on January 1 and left outside began sprouting on March 28; your experience may vary. Those seedlings got to about 30 inches tall by the end of that growing season, and about half of them flowered the following year (their second growing season). If you sow after early winter, give the pot an artificial chilling period of 2 to 3 months. Note that this information will not appear on the seed packet you receive.
