Drain All Water From the System With the unit still unplugged, disconnect the high-pressure hose from the machine. Disconnect the gun and wand from the hose. Tip the electric pressure washer forward and backward to let any remaining water drip out of the pump and inlet. Even a drops left inside can freeze and crack the pump housing. Add Pump Saver / Antifreeze This is the most important step! Use pump saver, RV antifreeze, or pressure washer antifreeze. How to apply it: Connect the pump saver bottle to the water inlet (garden-hose side). Press or squeeze the bottle until antifreeze begins to flow out of the outlet. Once it flows steadily, the pump is fully protected and internally lubricated. Benefits: Prevents freezing Protects seals and pistons Prevents corrosion Keeps the pump lubricated during storage Storing the Hose, Gun & Nozzles Even if water doesn’t freeze inside them, moisture can cause corrosion or mold.
