Timegate+ uses GPS capabilities through an optional heartbeat monitoring feature that managers can enable to track employee locations in real-time during field shifts to ensure that if an emergency occurs or an SOS call is raised as manager has the employees last known location and can relay that information to the appropriate authorities in law-enforcement for the safety of the employee. When an employee books off of a shift, GPS tracking is no longer enabled. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
