Ever wanted to go to a concert but none of your friends or partner were available or interested in the artist? What about a sporting event? Maybe a play nobody wanted to go with you to? Moonrise matches you with others who are interested in going to events that you want to go to. If there aren't enough people around who are interested in that exact event, we'll match you with people who have similar tastes in events as you. Are you single and looking to meet someone to date, but sick of swiping through random people you have nothing in common with? Find an event you want to go to, and we'll find you someone to go out with who also wants to go to that event or has a similar taste in events as you. That way, you already know you're meeting someone you have things in common with. Oh, and one more thing: Moonrise is not a "pay-to-win dating app." We will never do the thing where dating apps withhold information from you, unless you pay them, if it will genuinely help you find better matches. Moonrise isn't for singles only, though. From the beginning, we built Moonrise keeping in mind couples, as well as people who just want to make new platonic friends. When signing up (or later in your profile), you can indicate whether you are only interested in meeting people as friends, dates, or both. We will only match you with people that you are mutually compatible with in terms of gender identity, age preference, and whether both of you are interested in the same thing: meeting as friends, dates, or both. If you are open to meeting people as either dates or friends, you can still indicate for each event that you're interested in whether you are specifically looking for friends, dates, or both. We will still match you with everyone that you're mutually compatible with, but they'll be able to see which events you're looking for friends for, dates for, or both. After you get your potential matches, and like profiles, you'll be able to message anyone who liked your profile back. On your Chats page, you will see icons indicating whether you and your match are mutually interested in being friends, dates, or both. This way, if you're in a relationship and only want to meet people as friends, you can be sure that both parties can explicitly see exactly what everyone involved wants out of the match. Don't worry, though. If you matched with someone and decided to hang out platonically, but later start dating, you can always change your mutual match type in the app in your match settings. This does not include information that is considered to be the property of multiple people, such as messages exchanged with another user. However, when all users involved in a conversation delete their accounts, we will erase all messages from our servers.
