Actual water levels can be significantly higher than forecast due to waves, steric effect and other components not presently included in This model. 3.Merged Ocean-Currents approach a practical velocity at sea surface. The total current is obtained from the simple addition of contributions from the oceanic general circulation,waves (e.g. Stokes drift) and tides(the exchange between the coast and the open sea).
