the hombori project is a multidisciplinary research project whose aim is to contribute to the long-term biodiversity monitoring and locally supported protection of the hombori region in mali. several field researches have been conducted so far in order to characterize the biological diversity and study the impact of human activities on biodiversity. research done by geographers have, in parallel, studied the emergence of hombori as a tourist destination and examined the potential threats and opportunities that tourism could bring to the region.
