Keystone is an unincorporated community north of the North Platte River, just east of Kingsley Dam. Keystone was founded in 1906 on a piece of pasture land deeded to the public by pioneer businessman and rancher William Paxton, Sr. The name came from Paxton’s brand, the Keystone.
