When did you open? Our original location was on Linn Street (where Baroncini is now) and opened in 1978, and we moved to our current location in December of 1983. (This means our 50th anniversary is coming up soon!)2. What are your store hours? The bookstore is open from 10 AM to 9 PM, Monday through Friday, and 10 AM to 6 PM, Saturday and Sunday. The cafe is open from 9 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday, and 9 AM to 6 PM, Saturday and Sunday. (To access the cafe before the bookstore opens, please use the entrance between Micky's and Masala on Dubuque Street.) We close the bookstore and cafe on all major holidays, including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.3. What if I have a question about an order? For all order questions, please call us at (319) 337-2681. If you're calling about an online order, please ask for Karl (Monday-Friday until 6 PM) or Jenny (weekday evenings or Sundays).4. Do you allow dogs? Yes, but only in the bookstore. (No animals except service animals in the cafe, please.)5. Are you accessible? Yes! We have a few designated disability parking spots near our store, and we also have an elevator. 6. Do you have any local books for sale? We do! On our second floor, we have a section for local authors and a section called "Writers at Iowa," which features alumni of the Iowa Writers' Workshop and the Iowa Nonfiction Writing Program. We're in the heart of downtown Iowa City at 15 S. Dubuque Street, between Pullman Bar & Diner and Mickey's Irish Pub. There is limited street parking on our block, so we suggest parking in one of the downtown parking garages. (The closest to us are on South Clinton Street, Iowa Avenue, and South Linn Street.)
