With the LOWA-MONOWRAP® frame, the midsole of the LOWA ZEPHYR MK2 GTX® MID provides the very best comfort. This three dimensional midsole design was developed by LOWA in 1995. The frame comfortably cradles the foot and supports it when the boot wearer ventures across uneven surfaces. In addition the closed hooks prevent the boot snagging on the rope or rigging lines and heel cushioning lessens the force of the impact with the ground.  These LOWA boots are EN ISO 20347 certified and are classified as occupational footwear. This means that at the very least they can be expected to offer a reasonable degree of protection against oil, water, and penetrative forces. The LOWA® X-TRAC MILITARY sole meets the highest anti-slip standards. Slip protection depends primarily on the design and rubber compound of the outsole.
