// I started out with the 2 stills of it from the trailer, the only time you see it more or less straight on ( I did use a bit of reference when you see it from the front to get an idea of the curve and thickness. I then took that into a computer design software called autoCAD where I figured out what pieces there were while figuring out the practical way of designing parts.   After that I adjusted it to not be skewed, as the trailer is not looking directly at it. Then I took all those parts and cut them out of aluminum. (the pieces on top are separate and the front point is a separate section that is attached to the main body on the back). I then found a local machine shop with a tool called a slip roller to curve the main piece evenly. I was able to use it for free. At home I peaked the center and did that to all pieces that attached to the center and fitted all of the individual pieces to the curve of the shield. I used a high strength double sided tape to attach all the pieces to the main part. once I was happy with placement and fitment I painted the whole shield with a dark grey primer as I knew weathering it might have primer show through. Then sprayed a very speckled layer of  black paint to make a texture. last i painted it with several coated of matte black and used a scotchbrite pad to dull down and lighten up the higher areas as they are in the movie. From there I sanded the edges in a inconsistent fashion while trying to mimic what is seen in the original to create the worn and used look. Once I was happy with that, I took a product called rub n buff to finish the 4 silver parts on the upper section as they look dull silver rather then a reflective aluminum finish. Once I was done with the front I made 2 nylon straps to buckle on the forearm and have not yet but am going to add a handle to make it a bit easier to carry. Even now, it is comfortable to wear with just the 2 straps.
