Now with industrial and scientific steam tables! Fast, accurate, and comprehensive. Steam calculates the thermodynamic and transport properties of water and steam for subcooled, saturated, two-phase, superheated, and supercritical conditions. Steam is the tool you need if you're an engineer working with modern or legacy heat balances, or engineering students in thermodynamics, heat transfer, power cycles, and fluids classes. Three formulations are included for property calculations: - IAPWS Industrial Formulation 1997 for the Thermodynamic Properties of Water and Steam (IF97) - IAPWS Formulation 1995 for the Thermodynamic Properties of Ordinary Water Substance for General and Scientific Use (SF95) - 1967 IFC-Formulation for Industrial Use (IFC-67) Switch instantly between imperial (psia, F, Btu/lbm, etc.) or metric (kPa, C, kJ/kg, etc.) engineering units. Customize those sets of units for your needs. With just one tap, convert calculated outputs from one set of units to the other. A third set of units can be defined, and a units conversion calculator is also provided. Save calculations to review later or to compare differences between the formulations. On the settings tab, change the number of significant digits in the output, customize the engineering units, modify the font size, and select the theme for the app. Select one of the functions with these inputs: p,t - pressure and temperature p,h - pressure and specific enthalpy p,s - pressure and specific entropy h,s - specific enthalpy and specific entropy p,x - pressure and steam quality (vapor fraction) t,x - temperature and steam quality (vapor fraction) to calculate: - Specific enthalpy - Specific entropy - Specific internal energy - Specific volume - Density - Specific isobaric heat capacity - Specific isochoric heat capacity - Isentropic exponent - Speed of sound - Thermal conductivity - Dynamic viscosity - Kinetic viscosity - Prandtl number - Surface tension For saturated and two-phase (wet steam) conditions: - Saturation temperature - Saturation pressure - Saturated liquid, saturated vapor, and two-phase properties - Specific enthalpy - Specific enthalpy heat of vaporization - Specific entropy - Specific entropy of vaporization - Specific internal energy - Specific volume - Density For saturated liquid and saturated vapor conditions: - Specific isobaric heat capacity - Specific isochoric heat capacity - Isentropic exponent - Speed of sound - Thermal conductivity - Dynamic viscosity - Kinetic viscosity - Prandtl number Standards implemented in Steam: For the IAPWS-IF97 and IAPWS-95 calculations: - Revised Release on the IAPWS Industrial Formulation 1997 for the Thermodynamic Properties of Water and Steam, August 2007. - Revised Release on the IAPWS Formulation 1995 for the Thermodynamic Properties of Ordinary Water Substance for General and Scientific Use, September 2018 - Release on the IAPWS Formulation 2011 for the Thermal Conductivity of Ordinary Water Substance, September 2011 - Release on the IAPWS Formulation 2008 for the Viscosity of Ordinary Water Substance, September 2008 - Revised Release on the Surface Tension of Ordinary Water Substance, June 2014. - Revised Release on the Pressure along the Melting and Sublimination Curves of Ordinary Water Substance, September 2011 For the IFC-67 calculations: - A Formulation for the Thermodynamic Properties of Ordinary Water Substance, International Formulation Committee, February 1967. - Release on The IAPS Formulation 1985 for the Thermal Conductivity of Ordinary Water Substance, International Association for the Properties of Steam, September 1984. - Release on The IAPS Formulation 1985 for the Viscosity of Ordinary Water Substance, International Association for the Properties of Steam, September 1984. - Release on The Surface Tension of Water Substance, International Association for the Propererties of Steam, September 1975.
