Most news tells you what happened. Very little of it tells you what that means. FYI is a daily reader for people who keep up and still feel a step behind. Every morning it hands you five stories worth understanding, in plain language, with the context most coverage leaves out. Five, not fifty. You finish, and then you are done. WHAT A DAY LOOKS LIKE The day arrives as a box. Open it and your five stories are dealt as cards you move through one at a time. Each one opens by asking where you stand, gives you the number that matters, and explains why it matters. At the end you get the day on a single ticket: what you read, how long it took, and the streak you are building. GO AS DEEP AS YOU LIKE Every story opens into the questions behind it. Pick one and you get a clear answer, then two more questions. Level three is not the end either. Stop wherever you are satisfied. LOOK UP ANYTHING Run your finger across any word or phrase you do not know. An explanation comes back in seconds, written for that sentence rather than copied from a dictionary. LEARN THE IDEA UNDERNEATH Foundry holds short courses on the things a headline assumes you already know: what a central bank does, how a tariff is actually paid, how to read a policy. About ten minutes each. KEEP WHAT MATTERS Save any card to a board you can search, and add your own note. Every day you have read stays in the library. SHARE IT Send a story to a friend, or share your day as a sticker. WHAT WE DO NOT DO No ads. No marketing email. No endless feed, and nothing that refreshes while you are still reading. Signing in is optional and everything works without an account. Sign in with Apple or Google only if you want your saved cards on more than one device. News should leave you smarter, not busier.
