Control Blender cameras from your iPhone and record the shooting preview. Requires Blender 5.0 on an Apple Silicon Mac, a separate free VICA Mac companion installation, and the same local network.
This release is a paid download with a one-time app purchase. The Korean App Store price is KRW 10,000; check your local App Store price before downloading. All features in this release are included, with no additional in-app purchase or subscription required.
Choose EN or KR at launch. The setup guide explains Mac companion installation, Wi-Fi and QR connection, and your first shot. Reopen it from Help.
Use Director for solo movement, lens, aperture and focus control. For a two-person crew, connect two iPhones to the same Mac: Camera handles movement and recording; Focus handles lens, aperture and focus. All roles are included in the app purchase for this release.
DOP follows phone position and orientation. Joystick mode provides on-screen movement control. Pause, reposition your phone, and resume from the held composition.
Add and name cameras, select control and recording targets, and record multiple camera previews together. Robot arm moves between stored poses with segment timing and speed curves. Real shooting follows slopes on the selected mesh beneath the camera while maintaining its height above that mesh.
REC saves Blender camera previews as silent MP4 videos in your chosen Mac folder. These are preview recordings, not final renders. The iPhone camera feed and app buttons are not recorded. Performance and image quality depend on the scene, devices, network and camera count. SOLID preview does not show depth-of-field blur; focus and aperture affect the Blender camera and final render.
Control Blender Play/Stop from the shooting screen while operating the camera. Playback controls remain visible during recording. Reset returns to the current Take start while preserving saved Takes and videos, and is unavailable while recording or saving.
Requirements
• iOS 16 or later and an ARKit-capable iPhone.
• Apple Silicon Mac, macOS 13 or later, Blender 5.0 and the separate free companion. Download the latest Mac companion from the support page. Reset and Blender Play/Stop controls require Mac companion 1.22.4 or later. We recommend current version 1.22.6 for improved REC keyframe synchronization.
• The same trusted local network. Internet remote access is not provided.
• Windows, Linux and Intel Macs are outside the current support scope; other environments have not been verified.
• No VICA registration or login is required. Camera permission is used for AR tracking/QR scanning and Local Network permission for connection.
• VICA is independent of Blender Foundation. The Mac add-on includes GPL-3.0-or-later source, separate from the iOS app license.
