How it works: local filtering with VpnService Firewall No Root uses Android’s official VpnService API to filter network traffic locally on your device. The app creates a local connection to itself, routes traffic through the firewall and then decides whether to allow or block each connection. Traffic is not tunnelled to a remote VPN server and is not forwarded to third-party servers. Because VpnService is used, Android may show a “VPN” indicator while the firewall is active.
