POTS Screen helps you track postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) with your Wear OS watch and Android phone. Take a guided standing test on your wrist, get alerted when your heart rate spikes while you're still, and see your trends over days, weeks and months.
It was developed by someone with POTS, for people with POTS, with the goal of making it easier to track and monitor disease condition objectively over time.
HOW IT WORKS
Your watch collects the data. Your phone is your dashboard.
1. Install POTS Screen on your phone. The watch app installs on your paired Wear OS watch.
2. Run a standing test from your watch whenever you like.
3. Wear your watch as usual. Heart rate, steps and alerts sync to your phone automatically.
GUIDED STANDING TEST
• Lie down and rest while your watch measures your resting heart rate.
• Stand up when it buzzes, and stay standing while it keeps recording.
• See your resting heart rate, your peak and how much it rose.
• Results are compared with a commonly used POTS screening threshold: a rise of 30+ bpm (40+ bpm under 18) or a heart rate over 120 bpm after standing.
• Set the lying and standing phases anywhere from 3 to 15 minutes.
• No timers, no counting your pulse and no second person needed.
HEART RATE ALERTS
• Get a buzz on your watch when your heart rate jumps 20+ bpm within 30 seconds while you've taken fewer than 15 steps, so spikes from exercise don't count.
• Optional high heart rate alerts at a threshold you choose.
ALL-DAY TRACKING
• Your watch records heart rate and steps in the background. There's nothing to start or stop.
• Day-by-day graphs of heart rate, steps and alerts on your phone and watch.
• Expand any graph to look closely at part of your day.
TRENDS AND HISTORY
• Weekly, monthly, yearly and custom overviews of alerts, average heart rate and daily steps.
• A time-of-day chart shows when your alerts tend to happen.
• Every standing test is saved, so you can look back on your results over time.
EASY EXPORT FOR YOUR DOCTOR
• Export everything in one ZIP: a spreadsheet-friendly CSV for each day, daily graphs, and every standing test with its summary, data and graph.
• Share a single standing test in a couple of taps.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account, no ads and no subscriptions.
• Your data stays on your watch and phone. It is never uploaded to the developer or anyone else.
• Choose how long data is kept, delete it any time or export a full copy.
REQUIREMENTS
• An Android phone running Android 13 or newer.
• A Wear OS watch (Wear OS 4 or newer) with a heart rate sensor. The phone app shows what your watch records and can't collect data on its own.
IMPORTANT
POTS Screen is a screening aid, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition, and it does not measure blood pressure. Results can be affected by how your watch fits, medication, hydration and other factors. Always talk to a qualified healthcare provider about your results.
