Tähetark is a bilingual learning game where your child practices letters, phonics, reading, numbers, counting and first math — all in one app, in a real human voice. Made for preschoolers and kindergarten-age children: Otto, a friendly owl, reads every instruction and word aloud, so your child doesn't need to read yet. 🦉 MEETS YOUR CHILD WHERE THEY ARE Tähetark never asks how old your child is. It tracks every letter, sound and number separately and keeps your child right at the level that fits them now: • doing well — the task gets one step harder; • a mistake — Otto stays on it and brings it back again soon; • a new group of letters or numbers opens only once the previous one is solid; • new material is added gradually, always when your child is doing well. The game stays mostly on a path of small wins, nothing can be lost, and every session ends on a success. This is simple rule-based logic, not a "smart" black box — you can always see why the game showed what it did. 📚 RESEARCH-BACKED Behind every mechanic is published learning-science research and the Estonian national preschool curriculum (Tähetark is aligned with the curriculum, not certified by it): • Spaced repetition: learned letters, words and numbers return at ever-longer intervals — the spacing that research links to lasting memory. • Active recall, not prompting: your child retrieves the answer themselves; progress comes only from getting it right. • Estonian letters by the phonics method teachers use: the child hears the sound before the name. • English follows the phonics order (s, a, t, p, i, n) so children can blend simple words early. • Numbers are built from blocks and grouped in fives and tens: a child sees that 7 is "5 and 2" and 14 is "ten and 4". • Praise is for effort, not the child ("you practiced and found it!") — as process-praise research recommends. 🎮 WHAT'S INSIDE • 28 different learning-game types: letters, sounds, reading, numbers, counting, math, colors and shapes. • 9 bonus games the child unlocks with stars earned by learning: coloring book, balloon party, fishing, music party, maze, jigsaw, tangram, star ride and construction site. • Stars are earned only by learning — bonus games spend stars, they never give them.
