Amblyopia, also called lazy eye, is a disorder of sight due to the eye and brain not working well together. It results in decreased vision in an eye that otherwise typically appears normal. It is the most common cause of decreased vision in a single eye among children and younger adults.
Amblyopia - Lazy Eye is a visual exercise app designed to support daily eye-movement practice routines and help to improve and fix this problem.
The app provides guided moving-target exercises where the user follows a ball, emoji, or custom visual object across smooth animated trajectories. Exercises are organized by difficulty level and age group, making it easy to choose a comfortable training session.
This updated version expands the original app with a modern interface, portrait and landscape support, customizable visuals, optional eye tracking with TrueDepth-compatible devices, calibration, progress history, and flexible session settings.
KEY FEATURES
• 40 progressive exercise levels
Choose from a wide range of smooth eye-movement paths, from simple circular movement to more advanced visual patterns.
• Age-based exercise modes
Select an age group to adjust target size, speed, and movement complexity.
• Portrait and landscape support
Use the app comfortably in either orientation.
• Optional TrueDepth eye tracking
On supported devices, the app can use ARKit face tracking to provide additional feedback during a session. Eye tracking is optional and can be skipped.
• Calibration before tracking sessions
If eye tracking is enabled, the app guides the user through a short calibration process to improve exercise feedback.
• Multiple training modes
Choose both eyes open, left-eye training, or right-eye training depending on your routine.
• Customizable exercise target
Use a colored ball, emoji, animal emoji, or face-style image as the moving target.
• Custom backgrounds
Choose background colors, images, or animated hypnotic-style patterns to create a comfortable visual environment.
• Adjustable session duration
Select 1, 3, 5, 7, or 10 minute exercise sessions.
• Local progress history
The app saves completed sessions locally on the device, including duration, level, selected mode, and tracking feedback when enabled.
• Educational information
Includes helpful information about amblyopia and general instructions for using visual exercise routines.
PRIVACY
Eye tracking is optional. When enabled, the app uses ARKit/TrueDepth data only to estimate eye direction, blink state, and head movement during calibration and exercise sessions. The app does not record photos or videos, does not upload face data, and does not use this information for identification or advertising. Calibration and history data are stored locally on the device.
IMPORTANT MEDICAL NOTICE
This app is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice. It is intended as a visual exercise support tool. Please consult a qualified eye care professional before starting any eye exercise routine, especially for children or users with diagnosed eye conditions.
