A beautiful large cabinet display specimen featuring a predominant sharp, stout, scalenohedral crystal of translucent Calcite which grades in color variation from a very soft golden hue to pinkish-orange (from iron oxide inclusions) measuring 7.1 cm long, sitting among additional Calcites of equal color and quality, sitting on matrix. The big crystal is damage free, and has an attractive secondary overgrowth around the backside, and you can see the same slight overgrowth on several of the smaller Calcites. A very attractive and eye-catching specimen of this find, where the locality in Hubei Province was not divulged for some time. BETTER IN PERSON! Valued at $3,500 for quality and wonderful form / aesthetics.
