Kiertotie shows independent cafés, restaurants and places around Finland — not the same chains every map app already shows you. There are over 16,000 places in it right now: restaurants, cafés, bars, museums, viewpoints, bed & breakfasts, botanical gardens, manor restaurants, and historic inns. What it does: — Browse a map or a list, filter by category — Search by name — Look up a place: address, opening hours, phone, website, and whether dogs are welcome, when that's known — Plan a route between two points and see independent places along the way, each with an estimate of how many extra minutes the stop costs — Save places you like, find them again easily — Get directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze with one tap Browsing, search, and favorites work fully offline — all the place data is stored on your phone. The map view and route planning (address search, directions) use Apple's own map service, so those need a connection. No account needed. Kiertotie has no server of its own, so it doesn't collect or send data about you anywhere, doesn't track how you use it, and has no ads. The only network activity is to Apple's own map service — the same one Apple's own Maps app uses — for the map view and route planning. That's been true from the start, and there's no way for it to change quietly later: there's simply no server of ours for anything to go to. Place data comes from OpenStreetMap and Wikidata. Both are edited by volunteers, so some listings will be missing, outdated, or occasionally wrong — same as with any map built this way. If you spot something off, fixing it on OpenStreetMap itself is the right place — it'll show up here the next time the app's data is updated. Available in Finnish and English.
